Hello from Yaakten! If you've missed the last few emails, this is a remote village in Sikkim where we're building India's first digital nomad village. I've been here for 3 weeks. At first everything was exciting - the fresh mountain air, the lovely weather, the kindness of villagers, the stillness. But as the days passed, the quiet started to feel a little too quiet.I found myself craving for some company. Someone I could sit, laugh and talk about life with. Not just company but connection....

Hello from Yaakten! It's been a week since I came to this village in Sikkim which we're transforming into India's first digital nomad village. Life here is quite simple. I have a minimal, comfortable & functional room with a work desk and hot shower.Wifi is fast - one of the best I've found in the mountains in 4 years of travelling and having it in this remote village in Sikkim is unbelievable. Weather is lovely, monsoon is in full swing. Not too hot, not too cold, just how I like it. Locals...

Hello from Sikkim! I arrived here at midnight yesterday after a long, treacherous 26-hour journey. From west India (Rajasthan) to east India (Sikkim) by taking a train, a flight and 2 cabs. Then, I woke up to the sound of rain and this view And just like always, the destination felt worth the painful journey. I'm here on an exciting new project. We're building India's 1st Digital Nomad Village. When I first came across their ad on IG, I thought it was a scam. It seemed too good to be true. A...

Hello from home! Lately, I’ve been doing some deep thinking. Not the fun kind that comes with travel or a cup of hot filter coffee (Mysore is clearly lingering in my thoughts :D) I’ve come to a startling realization, (ok maybe not so 'startling' since my therapist told me this 4 years ago, lol)- About 80% of my problems, my constant 'I can’t' moments, and even the little hiccups in my day boil down to one thing: low self-worth. For years, I’ve been conditioned to believe that I’m not enough....

Hello from Mysore one last time! I came here to slow down.To stay put. To create some kind of rhythm. In my head, I had planned to be here for 6 months, at least. But clearly, life has other plans. Like the universe heard "nomad life" and said, "Challenge accepted."Now it's like "Rehke dikha ek jagah pe 2 mahine se jyada!" 😅 I’m heading back home to Rajasthan for some family functions.I thought I’d return to Mysore after that. But now… I’m not sure. I was looking for a house to rent long-term....

My new obsession is cooking. Actually no, my new obsession is eating healthy and there's no way to do that wihtout cooking for myself. For breakfast, I'm having overnight soaked oats with milk, lots of nuts and banana almost every day. It just takes 10 minutes to make at night. I keep it in the fridge and mornings are blissful because I don't have to worry about breakfast. I loveee this super quick and healthy breakfast. Then I drink a glass of vegetable juice - carrots, beetroot, amla,...

I finally visited the famous Mysore Palace after being in Mysore for a month. That too because a friend came over from Kozhikode for the weekend and it was one thing we both wanted to do. The day was extremely hot, but inside the palace, the temperature was a few degrees lower. In one spot, a strong cold wind was blowing on our face, but there was no ventilation or opening nearby. This was so surprising that everyone looked around, confused, trying to find out where the air was flowing in...

“But I don’t have interesting stories to tell.”I hear this all the time. And I get it.It’s easy to think that storytelling is only for people who’ve climbed mountains or built unicorn startups. But the truth is that your everyday life is full of stories. You just need the right lens to see them. After my last storytelling workshop, all the participants said they finally felt confident to come up with interesting story ideas. So I’m doing another one.“How to come up with story ideas anytime,...
