This is my exciting new project

Hello from Sikkim!
I arrived here at midnight yesterday after a long, treacherous 26-hour journey. From west India (Rajasthan) to east India (Sikkim) by taking a train, a flight and 2 cabs.
Then, I woke up to the sound of rain and this view
And just like always, the destination felt worth the painful journey.
I'm here on an exciting new project.
We're building India's 1st Digital Nomad Village.
When I first came across their ad on IG, I thought it was a scam. It seemed too good to be true.
A small village in Sikkim getting transformed for people like me who want to stay in a quiet place close to nature, travel slow, do deep work, and belong to a community of like-minded people. It was everything I was looking for a month ago when I decided to leave Mysore. And just like that, it appeared. How could it be real?
I had to find out, so with apprehension, I filled out their form to become a resident content creator. And today, I'm here. Now I can say with 100% confidence that it's real and it feels so aligned to what I had been dreaming of building for a long time.
Call it a coincidence? I'd prefer luck or manifestation :)
The project is in a small village in the Pakyong district of Sikkim in partnership with the Government. They want to promote Sikkim as a hub for digital nomads & remote workers and rightly so.
Sikkim has huge potential as a travel destination with magnificent nature, culture, and food. This will also enable the locals of the village to earn a better livelihood who currently depend entirely on agriculture or odd jobs.
And with existing places like Goa, Dharamkot, Bir, getting overcrowded, this overlooked state is sure to emerge as the next place to be. Its proximity to countries like Nepal, Bhutan, and Southeast Asia also makes it a great option for foreign travellers.
The team has already upgraded the village infrastructure a lot. Existing homestays have been renovated to provide all the essentials for remote workers - fast Wifi, work desk, hot water, power backup, etc.
Homestay owners also provide homemade meals for residents so it's pretty much a 'pack your bag and come' kind of deal.
Now, we need to start its marketing and that's why I'm here - to create content.
From sleeveless to sweater in a day :D
If you're looking for a break to recharge and unwind or work from a peaceful place, you're most welcome to the hills of Sikkim.
My dear friend Rishabh, who is a brilliant writer and an even better human being, has launched something new and I couldn't be more excited.
Whenever I read his writings, I wish I could write like him. That's how amazing he is.
If you have ever dreamt of creating something, anything, but haven't found the courage to do so, this is the space for you. You won't even realize how subtly and beautifully he'll awaken the creative in you.
If you want to know more about the nomad village, reply to me with your questions. Hello from Yaakten! If you've missed the last few emails, this is a remote village in Sikkim where we're building India's first digital nomad village. I've been here for 3 weeks. At first everything was exciting - the fresh mountain air, the lovely weather, the kindness of villagers, the stillness. But as the days passed, the quiet started to feel a little too quiet.I found myself craving for some company. Someone I could sit, laugh and talk about life with. Not just company but connection....
Hello from Yaakten! It's been a week since I came to this village in Sikkim which we're transforming into India's first digital nomad village. Life here is quite simple. I have a minimal, comfortable & functional room with a work desk and hot shower.Wifi is fast - one of the best I've found in the mountains in 4 years of travelling and having it in this remote village in Sikkim is unbelievable. Weather is lovely, monsoon is in full swing. Not too hot, not too cold, just how I like it. Locals...
