I found a problem that needs to be solved

I want to start today by thanking those of you who replied to my questions in the last email. I really really appreciate you taking the time to help me understand how I could add more value to you through these emails. Sending tight hugs your way :)

If you've been following me on social media or reading my emails, you already know I work as a freelance ghostwriter and help people build their personal brands on LinkedIn.

I usually work with founders & coaches. It's easy for them to hire me because either they have raised funds for their startups or are making money through their business.

Last week, some individuals reached out to me on LinkedIn to enquire about my services. They are not founders, they are employees who want to start building their brands now so that in a year from now, they are in a position to launch something of their own or find better jobs.

One person told me that he couldn't get funds for his startup because he didn't have a personal brand, so he shut down and went back to a job. But now, he wants to start building his brand to launch a new startup in a few years.

See how important having a personal brand has become?

I spoke to them and even before I quoted my price, I knew they wouldn't be able to afford it. As a salaried person, it's nearly impossible to shell out 30-40K for a personal brand manager. But, an average person like you and me needs a brand more than ever to grow in our careers.

This, I feel, is a gap in the market.

There are many personal branding agencies that claim to be making 6-7 figures, but only people with profitable businesses or investor money can afford them. There's nothing to help the average Joe.

I'm thinking of ideas to solve this problem and have a few initial thoughts. Will share them with you next week but I also want to know from you,

Do you want to start building your brand but struggle with how to go about it?

What are the challenges you face?

Your inputs will help me refine my ideas and come up with a solution well-suited for you.

I'm hosting another Storytelling Workshop this Saturday, 26th April, to teach how to come up with meaningful story ideas from your everyday life, to never fall short of stories to write.

The feedback on the last workshop was amazing, with 19 out of 20 seats sold.

If you think you don't have an interesting life to tell stories out of, you are in for a surprise :)

Oh, I almost forgot to share that I created a new video about Mysore. I love observing the little things in a new city and this video is all about those new things that I found amusing in Mysore.

You can watch the video here to get a bit of a feel of Mysore: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DIlKfmZoFxk/?igsh=MWQyYnVyaHVleWpkbw==

I also visited Kukkarahalli Lake last week. It turned out to be much better than I imagined.

There's a loooonnnnggg jogging track around the lake and many people go there for their morning & evening walks. I just walked for 1/3rd of the track and my legs had given up :D

It closes by 6.30 pm and the guard chases away everyone. I wish they would let people watch sunsets from there.

Before you forget, do share your challenges with building your personal brand so that we can solve them together.

Until next week!

Love,
K

Hello from Yaakten! If you've missed the last few emails, this is a remote village in Sikkim where we're building India's first digital nomad village. I've been here for 3 weeks. At first everything was exciting - the fresh mountain air, the lovely weather, the kindness of villagers, the stillness. But as the days passed, the quiet started to feel a little too quiet.I found myself craving for some company. Someone I could sit, laugh and talk about life with. Not just company but connection....

Hello from Yaakten! It's been a week since I came to this village in Sikkim which we're transforming into India's first digital nomad village. Life here is quite simple. I have a minimal, comfortable & functional room with a work desk and hot shower.Wifi is fast - one of the best I've found in the mountains in 4 years of travelling and having it in this remote village in Sikkim is unbelievable. Weather is lovely, monsoon is in full swing. Not too hot, not too cold, just how I like it. Locals...
