The last one from Mysore

Hello from Mysore one last time!

I came here to slow down.
To stay put. To create some kind of rhythm.
In my head, I had planned to be here for 6 months, at least.

But clearly, life has other plans.

Like the universe heard "nomad life" and said, "Challenge accepted."
Now it's like

"Rehke dikha ek jagah pe 2 mahine se jyada!" 😅

I’m heading back home to Rajasthan for some family functions.
I thought I’d return to Mysore after that. But now… I’m not sure.

I was looking for a house to rent long-term. But turns out, yoga season starts in July and international students start pouring in so short-term rentals become more profitable for owners.

Even my current landlord said no. He’s renting out the whole house for 32k now, but from July, he’ll rent out each room separately for 27k per room 😳

So now I’m back at the drawing board, figuring out where to go next.
The decision-making. Never. Stops.

Life rarely goes according to plan and that’s not always a bad thing.

You don’t have to be a nomad to relate to this.

Plans fall through. People say no. Circumstances change. You think you’ve found your rhythm and then, something throws it off.

Suddenly, you’re back to making decisions again.

Where do I go? What do I do? How do I feel okay with this new unknown?

I'm starting to believe that most of adulthood is just adjusting expectations without losing your spark :)

And that when life doesn’t go as planned, it doesn’t mean you messed up. It just means you’re being asked to flow instead of force.

But one thing this lifestyle is teaching me is:

Stability doesn’t always come from staying in one place. Sometimes, it comes from how you hold yourself in the chaos.

So here’s what I remind myself (and maybe you need to hear it too):

  1. Not all pivots are setbacks.
Sometimes, being denied something just means you’re being redirected. (Ugh, I know. But it’s true.)

  2. Clarity doesn’t come from thinking, it comes from moving.
Even if you don’t know exactly what’s next, choose something. Move toward it. The next step will show up.

  3. Give your brain a break from big questions.
Not every decision needs to be made today.
If you don’t know the answer, stop thinking. Go for a walk. Watch something silly. Sleep on it.

  4. Structure is self-care.
Having some rhythm in your day like a morning walk or a weekly journal ritual, makes the chaos easier to hold.
I write in my journal first thing every morning and whenever I feel overwhelmed. Helps me immensely.

I don’t know where I’m going next. But I do know this - I'll figure it out. I always do.

And if you're in a space of uncertainty too, I hope you remind yourself of the same.

We don’t need to have it all figured out. We just need to keep moving - one soft, imperfect decision at a time.

That’s all for now.

See you next Wednesday <3

Love,
K

Hello from Yaakten! If you've missed the last few emails, this is a remote village in Sikkim where we're building India's first digital nomad village. I've been here for 3 weeks. At first everything was exciting - the fresh mountain air, the lovely weather, the kindness of villagers, the stillness. But as the days passed, the quiet started to feel a little too quiet.I found myself craving for some company. Someone I could sit, laugh and talk about life with. Not just company but connection....

Hello from Yaakten! It's been a week since I came to this village in Sikkim which we're transforming into India's first digital nomad village. Life here is quite simple. I have a minimal, comfortable & functional room with a work desk and hot shower.Wifi is fast - one of the best I've found in the mountains in 4 years of travelling and having it in this remote village in Sikkim is unbelievable. Weather is lovely, monsoon is in full swing. Not too hot, not too cold, just how I like it. Locals...
